I Dead Meadow sono un trio proveniente dalla suburbia di Washington, DC. They were formed in 1998 and since then have released six CDs, the last of which, exactly, is this gem by the name of "Old Growth".
The work is positively influenced by the transfer of the band in Los Angeles: the usual references to the band, always suspended between the Sixties and Seventies, in fact (Blue Cheer, Sleep, Black Sabbath) adds a stylistic vein typically "California": The Doors, Neil Young, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Love, which gives the disc a unique vintage patina. Think of a wall of sound and annihilating narcoleptic, full of reverb and sovrincisioni, take everything and send it to loop backwards.
